With summer almost over, it’s not too late to help keep your hair healthy from the mid-summer environment! Noticing your hair color fading more quickly in the summer? Extended sun exposure isn’t good for any part of a beauty regimen, including your hair.

Here are a few tips to help combat the effects of the sun on your hair!

  1. Cover up those locks by wearing a cute baseball cap or floppy hat! (Tucking all hair away when possible!) You’d only be getting messy beach hair anyway!
  2. ALWAYS apply sunscreen to your scalp. Concentrating on your part, and front hairline.
  3. Use color saving products! My personal favorite is the Redken Magnetics shampoo and conditioner!
  4. Do NOT allow chlorine to dry on your hair! That goes for brunettes too! Chlorine is a chemical, resulting in extreme color fading and distortion. I like to recommend Redken Cleansing Cream Shampoo to pool worshipers!

Enjoy the rest of the summer, but remember to take care of your hair the same way you would your skin! It’s worth it too!
